Studio 75 Mixed Media Tag

Hi friends!

It's Song here today with a mixed media tag to share. I used Studio75's Yummy collection. The paper has a really beautiful retro look. So being inspired by the look, I made the tag a bit grungy.
This tag is perfect to put in with your gifts for others and put a sentiment next to the flowers. The background teal colors are added for more contrast.

Hope you like this tag!

Mixed Media Valentines Day Card

Hi friends

Valentines day is coming. Besides the surprises and gifts you will give to your loved ones, don't forget to make a card too.

This card is quite versatile and you can practically make similar ones for most of card giving situations. But to honor the valentines theme, I made it pink. To make it fun, I added the mixed media touch to it as well.

Also I kinda re-descovered the alcohol inks in my stash. When I was looking at the card and I really wanted some intense but translucent waterproof colors. Then it came to me that alcohol ink is perfect for that. They are very intense in color, but unlike acrylic paint, they aren't opaque at all.

If you love the leaves, they are cut out from Prima's leaf dies. They are hands down my favorite leaf die.

Card with Pattern Paper & Embellishments Made By You

Hi friends

Have you sometimes find that you just can't find the paper or embellishments you like in your stash even though you have quite a bit of collection? It happened to me and I decided to just make my own paper and embellishments.

With my love for watercolor, I made a watercolor leaf pattern background and watercolor embellishments. If you like this background paper, scroll down the page and you will find the image. Feel free to download and use it for you own. In the printing option window, you can rescale it to different percentage to make it smaller to fit your need.

In the video tutorial, you will find how I created the background paper. The key is to not draw anything with the same color in the same vertical or horizontal line or it won't look natural.

Mixed Media Card - Make Your Own Background Paper

Happy new year!!

Hope you had a wonderful holiday season. Today I am sharing a mixed media card that's very fun to make.

I always loved the distressed and grungy mixed media look. So in the new year, I am planning on doing more distressed and grungy style and also more clean modern styles. Two different styles, but both my favorite.

The background is a white plain paper but I added colors with palette knife and distress paint. Also added some texture paste so it doesn't look so plain. If you don't have a paper that matches with what you want to do, this is the quickest way to make your own background paper with nice colors and texture.

I made a video tutorial on how to make this card, scroll down to check it out.
